This is the tenth book in the series. It tells the story of how Antonietta Scarletti and Byron Justicano came together.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

Byron, a Carpathian male and hunter of the vampire, follows the sound of compelling music to Italy. There he discovers his lifemate, Antonietta Scarletti, heiress to the great Scarletti fortune. A renowned concert pianist, Antonietta is the glue that holds the Scarletti family together. Blinded in an explosion that killed her parents, she nevertheless stands to run the family shipping business. Antonietta lives in the Palazzo della Morte, the Palace of Death. There, like her ancestors, she finds someone wants her dead. Antonietta has a few secrets of her own and together, Byron and Antonietta face the killers and one out-of-control Carpathian youth.

Christine's Notes[edit | edit source]

I'm very excited to be bringing back the setting of this book as I loved the dark secrets in the palazzo. In the secret passage ways are hidden treasures, not the gold everyone would think but a history of the strange people who settled in the village on the Scarletti land and made a pact with the Scarletti family to intermarry with them and share the precious blood of a near-extinct lineage.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In 2007, Jove printed a special $4.99 USD version of the book that had the prologue removed.
  • This was the first book to be published outside of Dorchester Publishing, being published by Jove instead. However, several books after Dark Symphony would still be under the Dorchester brand until 2011, when the rights were sold to Avon.
  • Due to its not being an Avon published book, Dark Symphony was skipped over for a reissue cover in the 2020-2021 lineup.[1] However, this does not mean that it won't get a reissue in the future.
